8 Months old

It has been ages since my last post. We have recently spent a month in Melbourne to spend time with family so Angus went to stay in a kennel for that time. It is a lovely kennel on a farm with such loving owners. He looked so good when we picked him up and was so much more affectionate and obedient! That was 2 weeks ago and I am afraid he has gone back to being a knuckle head. Once school goes back next year (Feb) I will be taking him to Beginners Dog training. He really enjoyed puppy school so I want to continue with his training...plus he needs it!

We are heading down to Esperance soon and Angus will come with us and hang out with his cousins Chloe and Lucy...he is a lot bigger than last time he saw them so hopefully he plays nice. It will be great being on holidays and not having a schedule so we can give him more attention.

Here he is at 7.5 months.

Dogs With Blogs!

Today I went on the hunt to see if there were any other people out there that had a blog especially for their dog....as I have been told I am a bit crazy...lol
Well....the first link that came up on google was Dogs with Blogs. It is like a registry of dogs with blogs...so I signed Angus up :)
Apparently they were having a guessing game on when the 1000th dog blog to sign up would be and guess what!!! Angus won! Click HERE to check it out!

Superdog

Look what came in the mail today....Angus's Superdog ID tag. I ordered it online from Paw Print Pet Tags.

Angus is 6 Months!!

Angus has slept outside under the patio for the past 2 nights and seems to not have minded. I
feel so mean but the weather is getting nicer so it won't hurt him.

Congratulations Angus

Angus has finally graduated from Puppy School. Next week he starts Beginners....he definately needs more training, thats for sure! He is getting there though.

Bee Sting

Poor Angus is having a sleep-over at the vet's tonight. We think he ate a bee and his face/lips/eye/throat swelled up really bad. He wasn't having trouble breathing but was really swollen so we took him to the vet and they gave him an injection and wanted to keep an eye on him over night. Hope he isn't too lonely tonight :(

Angus 5.5 Months

Here are Angus latest photos at 5.5 months. For the past 2 weeks we have been feeding him at lunch time as well because he was looking a bit skinny. He's looking a lot better now.

Bit Sad and Sorry for Himself

Angus had is operation last week :( Poor baby. He seems to be over it now, but the first couple of days he wasn't too happy.

These photos were taken the day after so he is still looking a bit sore when he is sitting. He is nearly 5 months old now (20 weeks).

You can see in this first photo where the vet shaved a patch on his back for his microchip...it is slowly growing back.

Play Date with Ruby and Kostya

We had a great time letting to dogs run and play on Sunday. All Angus wanted to do was eat his brother and Mum and annoy them. It looked like they had a good time though.

Play Time with Ruby

Bob, Angus breeder is in town at the moment so we headed over to his house so Angus and Ruby (his mum)could have a play together...They had a great time tumbling and playing together. On saturday we are hoping to have a play date with Ruby and Angus's brother Kostya who also lives in Narrogin.

Squeaky Toy

Angus got this squeaky toy on Saturday for his puppy classes as a fetch and retrieve toy. It has now lost his squeak but he still loves to play with it.

Puppy Class

Angus had his first day at Puppy School today. It's a 6 weeks course and by the end of it Angus should be able to:
* Recall - On a long line come when called from 5-10 metres away and sit in front of me.
* Heel - Stay in a heel position alongside me with minimal guidance.
* Sit - On first command.
* Drop - On first command.
* Stay - For up to 30 seconds.
* Sit for exam - Allow another person to approach, pat and retreat without moving from the sit position.
* Retrieve - Favourite toy or more.

Today we did the 'come here' command and he was fine in class then when I tried it at home he just looked at me. I think he was over it all. We also learned to make him wait at doors to let me enter first...he did well at that.

There were 6 other dogs there including a Husky, a Labrador, a Bishon, a Maltese, a Jack Russell and a Beagle. He was so excited that he really didn't want to listen to me...very over excited. Hopefully he will calm down in future classes.

I'm looking forward to the coming weeks. I will try to get a photo somewhere along the way to show you his class mates.

14 weeks old

Angus is now 14 weeks old. He's just learned how to dig holes (not big ones) and try and visit the dog under the side fence...so we have had to barricade that off. He spent his first night outside last night and seemed to be fine. He has claimed Murray's chair on the back veranda as his bed and snuggles up on it.
Last week we went to Esperance and Angus got to meet his 5 cousins (my mums, sisters and brothers dogs) He loved it so much...loved all the human contact too! He was so good on the car trip too!
Angus has started to get the snuffly Boxer breathing and is getting longer legs and musclier everyday.

Isn't he just so adorable.

These photos were taken at 6, 8 and 10 weeks old. He is nearly 12 weeks old now! WOW..and he is getting so big. I will post some new photos soon.

Good Boy

Angus is such a pleasure to have. He is nearly 10 weeks old now and is growing very fast. He spends his days outside now and enjoys running around the backyard and has no problems entertaining himself. At nights he sleeps in his box in the laundry under his blanket until 7am when Murray takes him out. He's such a good boy. When he is inside he sits on his mat...he knows what 'Go to your mat' and 'sit' means. We just need to teach him to do his business behind the shed...or at least on the lawn and not on the patio! When he needs to go to the toilet when he is inside he goes and sits at the backdoor...and if we don't see him there he starts crying so we know he is there..very cute. He is such a cuddly boy still.
Soon Angus will get to meet my mum's dogs Chloe the Bishon and Lucy the Chihuahua x. I really hope he doesn't grow too much in the next 4 weeks so he doesn't scare them as they are little doggies.
We love our boy so much.

8 weeks old

I found out today that he won't be able to start puppy school until a week after his last injection which will be a 13 weeks :(

Walk to the Park

Today Angus went for his first walk on a lead....and hated it! He struggled with it the whole time so Murray ended up carrying him most of the way. On the way home he went a lot better..better do it more often I think.

Once we got there we tried to get him running around to play with him but all he wanted to do
was sleep. He didn't once get up and play...haha.

We need to get him into obedience classes soon as he is starting to display some puppy behaviour that needs to be dealt with. We are still working him out as his behaviour and personality is so different to all the other dogs we have had. He is so quiet, placid and cuddly but seems to be insecure..poor baby. Note to self...ring vet to see when puppy classes are tomorrow.

Angus's First Bath

Wow..Angus loves his baths. He just stood there and didn't seem worried at all. After his bath he snuggled with me infront of the heater and fell asleep...what a good boy.

On the sleeping front...he still is crying at night. He sleeps through til about 3.30 and then every hour after that til 7am. Angus loves being around us and when we leave him outside alone he cries which can be annoying. Today we left him at home by himself while we were at church and since we have been home he has been a lot more settled and will stay outside no problem now....must have needed that time to get over himself ;)
I can not belive how much he has grown in one week! He is getting quite big now. It won't be long before he loses that puppy look.
